New Adventures in Wi-Fi

So, you turn 32, and, having abandoned your right to complain on account of the privilege you were born with (not counting all the complaining you do), you can pretend that the law of increasing misery will stop applying to you as soon as you make the choice to just stop doubting every choice you've ever made, despite all the unpleasant choices looming in the immediate future, and leaving aside the instant regret that accompanies such a maudlin post (made at least partially for the sake of posting something for the first time in a month), you can (if, that is, you can stop making yourself vomit by using the second person) admit that life, even immediate post-birthday life, is a little more pleasing when you have a fancy new laptop, especially since you've been blaming your failure to get off the dime on a pretty big writing assignment on the fact that your computer is old and sluggish and begging to be replaced. A gift is always a gift and that's always nice, but an extravagant gift, one that requires a certain sacrifice—manageable, but no less considerable for it—and is absolutely guaranteed to be both useful and fun, in addition to being exactly what you wanted, is enough to make you feel like all the whining you do about all the stupid bullshit you worry about is just a silly waste of time when you stop to consider just how lucky you are.
